Overview
This 7 Days Rwanda Primate Trekking safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking, visit Lake Kivu and Nyungwe national. park for an exciting chimpanzee trekking.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport.
Our professional safari guide / driver will welcome you into Rwanda at Kigali
International airport, brief you and later transfer you to the booked hotel in the heart of Kigali city. Check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Guided city tour. Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Breakfast will be served to you in the morning after which you will be guided on a city tour that includes, Kigali Genocide Memorial, then head to the Old Kigali town where you will have lunch. On the way to Volcanoes National Park you will stop for photos and beautiful sceneries then proceed for dinner and overnight stay at your booked lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
You will be served breakfast in the morning, then head for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. You will meet the guide, be briefed and head to the forest for gorilla trekking tour. Accommodation near the park if time allows, or you can visit the local community in the evening.
Day 4: Golden monkey trekking. Transfer to Lake Kivu.
Early morning breakfast, then proceed to ranger station of the national park for registration and briefing then go for golden monkey trekking where you will come at a very close contact with these beautiful monkeys.
Later have lunch, proceed to Lake Kivu for relaxation or boat cruise which is optional. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Proceed to Nyungwe National Park.
You will be served breakfast on the beautiful shores of Lake Kivu, and then proceed to Nyungwe National Park. Drive through the beautiful sceneries as you take photos on the lake side road, have lunch on the way or move with packed lunch from the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the lodge overlooking the lush Nyungwe forest.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park.
Very early morning, after breakfast, will go for chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe National Park then have lunch and head for a canopy walk adventure in the afternoon.
If time allows, you can do optional Colobus monkey tracking with guide arrangement, then return for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 7: Drive back to Kigali city.
After breakfast, you will drive to Kigali but if time allows, visit Murambi Genocide Site, King’s palace in Nyanza and national museum in Huye. One can move with packed lunch or have lunch on the way. Upon arrival, continue to Kigali airport to catch your departure flight or check in at a hotel in the city depending on your schedule.
