Along the Kampala Jinja highway, just about 40 minutes of road driving from the country’s capital city of Kampala is the first tourism destination of the eye-catching waterfalls of Sezibwa, a Buganda Kingdom popular world heritage site. The Sezibwa River is the most noticeable key tourism attraction and attracts a large number of bird and mammal species that offer such a remarkable wildlife experience.
Visitors shall also be mesmerized by the daily ancestral activities carried out on the falls as the local community believes they are powers in the falls. The local people also believe that the power of the Falls and the river was created by the strong powers of Sezibwa. Several shrines by the herbalists and traditionalists can be sighted in the neighbourhood of Sezibwa which is dominated by small forests and lush vegetation. A short tour at Sezibwa will take about one full hour which visitors shall learn about the history and background of Sezibwa Falls and the people living around it. Nature walks in the country’s enormous forest of Mabira are yet another activity to enjoy after the Sezibwa before embarking on the journey for remarkable boat cruises on the source of the Nile.
THE EQUATOR.
An imaginary line of the Equator is yet another popular attraction that can be visited while on Uganda short trips. Other bird species include wyn’s weaver, African Eagle Fisher, shining blue king fisher, sand martin, red-eyed dove, red-shouldered cuckoo, red-chested cuckoo, purple heron, Grey-headed gulls, little egret, Grey heron, Goliath herons, lesser jacana, great white egret, black bee-eater, brown snake eagle, Blue-breasted bee-eater, Banded martin, Africa water rail, Black egret, common sandpiper, double toothed barbet, to mention but a few.

Since the start (at planning stage) got a great support from Bob (company owner) and Edmund (our guide) via WhatsApp. They tailored a program to our needs including the unforgettable mountain gorillas hike, general hikes to waterfalls, safari including boat trip to see hipos!! Edmund, our guide, always super polite and the kids enjoyed him a lot! All our hotels, meals included in the package so no hassle on this….we just paid for drinks! The only regret I have is not staying one extra day in the Mburo National Park to explore a bit more ;) Memorable trip with so much nature and a super-humble people that made the experience even more enjoyable!!
